How does Invisalign work?

Wear the aligners for about 22 hours per day. You remove the aligners only to eat, drink, brush, and floss your teeth.
Can I eat or chew gum with my aligners?
No, you need to remove the aligners every time you eat or chew gum.
How do I clean my aligners?
You’ll clean the aligners by brushing them with water and dawn dishwashing detergent every time you brush your teeth. During the day you can simply rinse your mouth and the aligners with water after eating your meals.
Does Invisalign Hurt?
Invisalign® doesn’t generally “hurt.” Most patients experience mild discomfort when they first start Invisalign® or switch to a new set of aligners, but this fades within a day or less.
Can teenagers get Invisalign?
So long as the roots are fully developed anyone can get Invisalign®. There’s also an option specifically for adolescent patients called Invisalign Teen®.
