Why See an Orthodontist?

Orthodontists specialize in the art and science of orthodontics and attend years of focused training beyond dental school to achieve this distinction. After receiving a doctorate in general dentistry, an orthodontist must complete 2 to 3 years of post-graduate training in the field of orthodontics at an ADA approved university. Orthodontists are specially trained to straighten teeth and diagnose jaw alignment problems while considering the patient’s bite, facial features, and treatment complexities.  Dentists diagnose, treat and manage your overall oral health care needs including gum care, root canals, fillings, crowns, veneers and bridges.  

At Turner Orthodontics, we will work closely with your dentist and, if necessary, other dental providers (periodontist or oral surgeon) to coordinate care to ensure you are ready for treatment and maintain good oral health throughout treatment.
